Day 2 ! "Fatcamp" Day 2

I woke with a headache today. Actually we all woke up with a headache. It wasn't a pretty sight. But we managed to muster energy, drag ourselves to the fitness class and all surprisingly, felt much better for it! The class, run by encouraging Emma, was much less intense than yesterday but happily so as it meant no-one passed out. Alternating 45-second intervals of different exercises (squats, crunches, star jumps, press-ups, inchworms (burpee's little sister) and bicep curls), it meant people could go at their own pace while being gee-ed on by the instructor. But I did forget to put on my sportswatch, sorry peeps.

Breakfast was a rather tasty carrot juice, quarter apple and few raisins (treat!). A porridge was left looking lonely on the table so after a quick check with Galia (of course), it was soon in ma belly. And it is a-m-a-zing how a few spoons of water porridge can send one over the moon!

No yoga class at the weekend but still a walk - and to the historical site of Battle today! Stats (provided below) were surprisingly similar to yesterday's walk, though there were definitely more hills - we had all thought today felt much much tougher. I guess that could be down to day 2 general weakness.

But after the walk came lunch and today was a cabbage, beetroot & apple salad, mm mmm. And now I have a wee confession to make...as Miss E opted for an egg instead, I may have, perhaps, eaten most of her salad too. I figure if you're more focussed on the general detox (as opposed to intense weight-loss), then some extra vitamins won't hurt. Not to mention I'll be needing energy over the next 78 days! But for those who are after weight-loss, if you follow Galia's programme you will certainly* lose weight. One fellow retreater has been here for 3 weeks, lost 10kg and hopes to lose 15kg by the time he leaves. A few others were returners - they've come to speed up or re-kickstart their weight-loss journey and have always been happy with the results here!

No afternoon massage today (btw, I had a relaxation massage y'day, de-light-ful indeed) which was a shame but time to read some mags, chat and do the one activity that best distracts you from hunger...nap.

Dinner - a carrotty tomato soup. It was quite alright I thought, but again, some unfinished bowls (which I left alone this time). Galia was not impressed with the unfinished. I imagine those peoples' bellies are probably even less impressed.

It's 20.42 and I want to go to bed...hungry. exhausted. Only 1 full day left...(!)

Today's Stats (for walk only)

- Distance covered: 10.91km (the watch doesn't lie) (Elevation: 198m)
- Total Time: 2hrs 03mins (Moving Time: 1hr 55mins - more shoelace tying?)
- Calories Burnt: 407
- Average Heart Rate: 103bpm
- Max Heart Rate: 145bpm

Quote of the Day: (from Miss E) @5.30pm (1hr before dinner) - I am fantasising of a boiled egg so much right now.

* certainly used loosely. Author takes no responsibility for anyone who attends programme and freakishly does not lose weight.
